Ideal Schedule for the Mompreneur Who Works from Home

Mompreneur

I’ve worked from home for over five years. Most of that time for an employer, and it’s always been a challenge. It’s hard to stay focused. Hard to juggle your “mom life” with your work responsibilities. Now, as a mompreneur its even more challenging.

It takes a tole on your social skills, because you’re always home! It takes a tole on your fitness, because you sit all day working from your couch or home office. It kills your swag, because you rarely get dressed or put on make-up.

It turns you into a workaholic, because the lines between work and home life don’t exist.

Although there are many positives, it can be a real challenge. Especially for a single mom.

This year I’m implementing a new routine into my week days to help me keep focus throughout the day, and be more productive. I’ve incorporated the elements that I know I’d let slide over the years, and ones that need to be a regular part of my daily life.

New Year, New Habits: How to Set Achievable Goals to Insure Success

women working out

The start of a new year is the perfect time to create new habits and set achievable goals to insure long term success.

I’m a firm believer that to do anything, you need to have a clear, compelling end goal from the start. You’ve gotta see that BIG “impossible” goal or dream so clearly that it makes you want to get up each day and work towards it.

BUT… You’ve also gotta have achievable and realistic starting goals. So many people get overwhelmed by the big goal because they look at their current life, and think; there’s no way I can make that happen!

But the truth is, you can. Regardless of your goal, no matter how “insane” it is, you CAN achieve it.

How?

By starting small. Make a daily goal that you can ABSOLUTELY commit to, something you KNOW you can do without killing yourself. If you’re daily goals are not realistic you will lose steam quick! Trust me I am the poster child for this!  Read more ›

New Year’s Traditions: A Time for Goal Setting and Letting Go

message in a bottle

New Year’s Eve traditions are a bit different in my home, it’s the perfect time for goal setting and letting go of negativity.

Yesterday I drove to the Oregon Coast with my lifelong best friend Lisa. We’ve known each other since before we can remember, but this was one of our first Christmas and New Year’s spent together. To mark the occasion we decided to create a new tradition, one we both pledge to follow each year moving forward.

FIRST, we began by writing a letter to the Universe, containing all the deepest desires of our heart.

Manifesting Gangsta: The First Step to Manifesting Anything You Want

Wanna become a Manifesting Gangsta? Here’s the first step to manifesting anything you want directly off your future board

I made my first future board in 2009. At the time I was trying desperately to reinvent my life after it imploded the previous year when my husband left our family to pursue his affair. Things were bleak, I was struggling to simply put food on the table, keep the lights on and the rent paid, all while working full-time and learning how to be a single mom of three babies.

Though the reality of my daily life was dark and overwhelming, I couldn’t help but think, there must be something better out there for me. I began to nurture a tiny seed of hope, one that craved a different life. I wanted to live moments that felt like pure magic and brought unexpected bursts of joy. I wanted to give my children a beautiful childhood, one where they knew first hand that anything they imagined could actually happen. I wanted to know that all my hustle and struggle would, in the end, pay off.

The Dark Side to Being a Woman in Corporate Sales #MeToo

This is a difficult post to write. I’ve never considered myself a victim and don’t want to start now. I’ve weighed the pros and cons of this. The list of cons is a mile long, topped with the fact that I may never get another corporate job. But the pros has two very important words: Mira and Izzy. My daughters. I speak up now, in hopes that one day they won’t have to.

I am choosing to SAY SOMETHING, because I can no longer justify staying silent.

I said nothing, my entire career. I kept quiet, tried to purge the secrets from my memory, because that’s just what you do. You don’t complain about it, that would somehow make you weak, you’d be “one of those girls.” The girls who “can’t take a joke.” Or the ones who “take it too personal and should just lighten-up.” That’s the narrative when you’re a women in corporate business to business sales. It’s a man’s industry after all, and us women should be honored to even get to play with the big boys.

I was going through a nasty divorce when I began my corporate sales career in 2008. Trying desperately to juggle my new life with learning how to become a single mother with three babies, while also trying to work my way up the corporate ladder.

Self-Help Industry Targets Women, but is Dominated by Men

Jack Canfield, Tony Robbins, Zig Zigler, Wayne Dryer

The self-help industry targets women, but is totally dominated by (aging) white men.

Jack Canfield, Tony Robbins, Zig Zigler, Wayne DryerFor days I’ve researched, trying to find anything that addressed this problem, and nothing. How is that possible?

When I Google: “women in the self-help industry,” I get books that women should read, or other random articles about the industry. I DON’T get a list of women who top the charts, or are household names. In fact, when I google: “top earning self-help gurus” I get list, after list of (mostly aging, white) men like Jack Canfield, Tony Robbins, Wayne Dyer and Zig Zigler. In fact Dr. Laura and Rhonda Byrne are the only women on these top lists, and several don’t even show them.

WHERE ARE ALL THE WOMEN in self-help?

Experiencing the Total Solar Eclipse of 2017 Profound Energy

Manifesting Energy in the Total Solar Eclipse of 2017

Experiencing the Total Solar Eclipse of 2017 Profound EnergyDid you feel that profound energy today, during the total solar eclipse? It was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in my life. If you were not one of the lucky ones in the path of totality, here is what it felt like for me personally.

In one word: PROFOUND.

If you read my post How to Manifest with the Total Solar Eclipse then you know I was preparing a few days ago for this event. When I realized that it wasn’t just a “cool thing,” that science and astronomers would be into, but the greatest cosmic event of my lifetime, I got with the program, and quick!

I didn’t want to miss the chance to harness this powerful energy to manifest my dreams and desires. I’ve done a lot of work this past year to clear lifelong blocks to money (lack mindset), irrational fears and blocks to love. To help clear these blocks I’ve had many reiki sessions, knowing that what was holding me back was deep within my subconscious. I’ve felt that energy slowly releasing these blocks and fears, but still knew that I carried them with me, and felt as though nothing I could do would shake the deepest layers of these limiting beliefs.

So, I spent all day Saturday and Sunday rewriting and refocusing my dreams, doing the same for my mottos. Pulling out the stacks of books that I’d never read by Louise Hay, Norman Vincent Peale and Rumi, searching for the answers on a conscious level so that the eclipse energy could clear it on the subconscious level.  Read more ›

How to Write Your Life Plan to Manifest Your Dreams

How to write your #LifePlan

The following is an example of how to write your Life Plan which is the homework for step 4 of my #HBRMethod the chapter titled #WriteIT. I believe strongly in the power of our words and thoughts to predict our future, and the last time I wrote my #LifePlan in 2011, it manifested with such accuracy that it’s almost spooky! So I am putting this new plan out into the Universe (maximizing the manifesting power of the total solar eclipse tomorrow) to expedite these dreams becoming my reality.

My #LifePlan 2.0 …
